- Open Windows Mail. If you get an error message, just click the X in the upper right corner of the dialog box.
- From the menu bar, select "Tools" and then select "Accounts."
- Click the "Add" button on the right side and then select "Email Account." Click "Next."
- At the "Internet Email Address" screen enter your email address, which is your username plus @bektel.com. An example of this would be janedoe@bektel.com (note how it has no spaces and is all in lowercase letters).
- Type in your password. Then, type your name in the text box to the right of "Display Name." Click "Next."
- At the "Email Server Names" screen, make sure that "Incoming email server type" is "POP3."
- Click in the text box below "Incoming Mail (POP3, or IMAP) Server" and type in "pop.bektel.com" without the quotes.
- Change "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" from 25 to 465.
- Click on the box to the left of "Outgoing server requires authentication" to check the box.
- Click "next" and then on the next screen select "finish."
- Select "Properties" (your account should already be highlighted).
- From there, click on the advanced tab and check the box for "leave a copy of messages on server" so that the check mark is gone and the box is unselected.
- Click on "Apply" and then select "OK."
- You're finished! You can now close out of all screens.
