Based in Steele, North Dakota, we are an innovative telecommunications company offering truly revolutionary products and services in the market. Because of this incredible momentum, we are seeking to add an amazing Network Engineer, Network Security Engineer, or Sr. Network Engineering candidate to our successful team. What You Will Be Doing

  • Network architecture, design, and continuing improvement, installation, and software version control/revision on all network equipment.
  • Deploy and configure, Cisco switches, routers, core switches, and other network gear.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain carrier grade networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Installs and tests necessary software and hardware in accordance with Change Management processes.
  • Utilizes monitoring tools to capture and analyze network traffic, maintain uptime, generate usage reports, spot trends, and report any anomalies to the supervisor.
  • Creates and maintains network documentation and diagrams as needed when assets are added or removed.
  • Perform IP forensics as needed.
  • Administer and maintain IT and Central Office monitoring systems.
  • Administer company IT security, Disaster Recovery, and industry compliance policies.
  • Demonstrates great follow up and customer service skills.
  • Must have a good understanding of Network Industry Standards and Network Security Practices.
  • Other Networking and Server Admin related duties as assigned.



What You Need for this Position

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with all aspects of edge networks and WAN architectures, including protocols such as BGP, EVPN, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, SIP and strategies such as capacity planning, routing policies.
  • Experience configuring CISCO carrier grade networking, monitoring routers and firewalls.
  • 5+ years’ experience preferably in a mixed Microsoft/Linux environment
  • Ability to work well within a team, provide technical guidance/mentor other team members, and network documentation proficiency.
  • Maintain outstanding network design & installation docs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in planning, organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge.
  • Cisco certification desired.
  • SANS, or ISC Security Certification are a plus.

We are currently seeking qualified internal candidates for the position of Network Service Technician (NST) Roamer reporting from our Valley City Post. The candidate who fills this position must reside within one hour of Valley City and will be granted six months from the date of acceptance to relocate if required.

Network Service Technician provides telecommunications, data, and IPTV services to customers by maintaining, operating and servicing, telephone lines, instruments and related equipment. Conducts tests and inspections of products, service, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Computer skills are required along with experience in personal computer hardware and software maintenance and emphasis on internet applications. Ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventative maintenance and networking of telecommunications services in both business and residential environments.

Minimum education/experience required for the position is: knowledge and skills usually acquired through two years technical training or four years experience. Experience and knowledge in residential networks and entertainment technologies are desired. A+ certification is a plus.

Qualified applicants must be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a prompt, helpful and friendly manner. They must possess outstanding problem solving, communications and technical skills, along with a strong work ethic. Excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail and willingness to be trained on other systems within the company, as well as within the industry, are vital qualities. Ability to work on call and evenings and weekends as needed. Proficiency with computers and basic networking experience is required. Technician must be a self starter and motivated to learn quickly. Ability to operate hand tools and perform professional cabling installations is key.

Responsibilities are varied, including installation, repair and maintenance of FTTH facilities; programming, and trouble shooting of our IPTV system, high speed data networks, and data products. Install, maintain, repair of customer equipment and IP services. The employee will also promote the sale of products and features and educate customers on the use of equipment. Applicant may be asked to fill extended stay duties away from reporting post when required. Performs all other duties assigned by Supervisor.

General Summary

BEK Communications is seeking a highly motivated individual capable of all duties required for delivering clerical work assigned by the Plant department leadership team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Update and Manage Cable Reel Inventory giving quarterly and year end reporting.
  • Provides close technical support to BEK Engineering and Construction departments.
  • Supports BEK Customer Service with recording detailed OSP specifics. (Outage recordation, member services location, etc.)
  • Needs to hold a valid ND Class D driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Updating Plant Workflow progress in IVUE
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by Management.
  • ND One Call Management (Ticket Call-in & Plant Updates)
  • Light ROW Collection and Research (Public and Private)
  • Crop Damage Reconciliation
  • Manages incoming Plant data and delivers to Contractors, Engineers or other outsourced resources to maintain healthy progress of Plant Buildouts.
  • Assists in Updating Plant specific mapping and Elations data


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of telecommunications operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret accurate, detailed drawings of OSP cabling and architecture.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, various business contacts, and BEK members/customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.
  • Strong Computer Skills with Microsoft office tool


Education and Experience

  • 2 Years or More Telecom Experience.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio
  • Public Record Research a plus

BEK Communications is seeking a high contributing leader who will have responsibility for enhancing and evolving BEK Communication’s (BEK’s) cyber security culture and cyber security program. You will identify gaps in BEK’s cyber landscape that pose risk to BEK Cyber Assets. You will define appropriate risk reduction solutions and shape mitigation strategies to appropriately secure BEK Cyber Assets. You'll work cross-functionally and use a data-driven-defense approach to design, implement, and manage solutions to mitigate risks. You will have knowledge, experience, and responsibilities across all aspects of Cyber Security.

The Cyber Security Operations Lead is a key role within BEK's Cyber Security Team. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Cyber Security Operations Manager in producing a high performing team and program. This is a highly technical hands-on lead position. The position will be based out of Bismarck ND (or the surrounding area for BEK Communications) but potentially allowed to work remotely with some office time and travel as needed.

The successful candidate will use their leadership abilities, experiences, and knowledge to help build and maintain a security culture and environment focused on continuous monitoring and improvement. This role will be instrumental in driving administrative and technical cyber security solutions for BEK.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (additional years of experience and alternate training can offset degree)
  • Minimum of 10 years of broad Cyber Security experience

BEK Sports Network, is the only North Dakota-owned broadcasting company with a statewide broadcast footprint and a nationwide Internet (OTT) offering. The BEK Sports Network includes live events activities from across the state of North Dakota. BEK Sports Network recently celebrated its 16th anniversary, having broadcast over 4,750 events, from 80 cities and 110 venues.

Position Summary:

This position is full-time and is responsible for the following aspects of live sports production:

  • Ability to set-up and tear down of complete live broadcast including camera set-up, cable runs, audio/video testing, ect.
  • Camera operator for live sports broadcasts
  • Transport all broadcast equipment to and from broadcast venue


Preferred, Skills and/or Experience:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve broadcast issues
  • Well organized and detail oriented individual
  • Ability to self manage and work with little supervision
  • Knowledge of sports
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, strategically aligning efforts and activities to meet company goals


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree, in Broadcasting or equivalent experience in television/radio production
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Must be willing to consent to drug screening
